When one door closes, a window opens. Understanding that this year's celebration would look different, we knew we had to think outside of the box and create a new element to our celebration to satiate the public's desire to get out and experience something safely.

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce of San Francisco is excited to debut, The Year of the Ox on Parade. A tradition in the making, 11 life-sized Oxen will be publicly displayed across San Francisco to help ring in the new year of the Ox. Thanks to our sponsors, we were able to work with local artists to design each Ox to reflect upon the Chinese culture, people, and traditions. After our celebration, each Ox will be auctioned off to benefit our local Chinatown non-profit organizations.

About the SF Chinese Chamber of Commerce:

The SF Chinese Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to building business relationships, promoting business activities, developing commerce, and furthering Chinese culture.

Chinese Chamber has issued statements, suggestions, and requests to the relevant government departments and agencies concerning matters for the betterment of the Chinese community.

Today, Chinese Chamber continues to support the Chinese community with economic development. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we partnered with various community organizations to sponsor outdoor dining programs to revitalize restaurant businesses in Chinatown.  We also provided financial support to non-profit organizations for their meal programs for underserved individuals.

We are the proud presenter of the biggest celebration of the Chinese New Year outside of Asia, which comprises of eight festival events, culminating with the world-renowned Chinese New Year Parade. This year, we initiated a new event to our celebration, Year of the Ox on Parade. Eleven culturally decorated oxen are displayed across the San Francisco Bay Area. After the display, each Ox is auctioned off with the proceeds to benefit local non-profit organizations.

Chinese Chamber appreciates your generous support in this fundraising event.

All of our non-profit partners are doing amazing work for the community. We hope you will bid on these beautiful Oxen to help these organizations continue their meaningful and impactful work. If you don't have space for an Ox but still want to support the community please consider donating.

Donations collected here will go to support the Community Coalition for Safety and Justice to help combat AAPI hate. This is a newly formed coalition amongst Community Youth Center, Chinese Progressive Association, Chinese for Affirmative Action, and New Breath Foundation. They have a multi-prong approach to address the rise in violence against the Asian Community since the pandemic that includes community safety infrastructure, community outreach, victim wrap-around services including care management, and community healing/restorative justice programming.
